Three types of training in urban food security issues will be delivered:

  • Advanced technical and professional training at the Programme in Urban Food security (PUFS) at the University of Cape Town: course-based, modular one or two year course at the post-graduate level (Honours and Masters) and PhD training by thesis.
  • In-service, urban food-policy courses with a target audience including senior and middle management in national, provincial and municipal government, NGOs, donors and the private sector.
  • Community-level training for NGOs, CBOs, CSOs, and other civil society change agents with a view to building community knowledge and capacity to respond to the twin challenges of urban food insecurity and HIV/AIDS.
